[Mini-series] Dive into the Plastic Odyssey Expedition

“Journey to the Heart of Recycling” is a mini-series produced by Après-demain SA, in partnership with Plastic Odyssey, which we have been supporting as a field partner since 2022.

Each challenge overcome strengthens the conviction that change is possible. Après-demain SA is part of this approach and shares common values by renewing its support for Plastic Odyssey until the end of their world tour (in 2026) to fight against plastic pollution at sea and spread inspiring and sustainable solutions on land.

The first episode reviews the first 3 years of the expedition around the world:

  • 11 micro-recycling factories created with the ambition to develop 200 by the end of 2029
  • More than 600 entrepreneurs who participated in the incubation program on board the boat or were trained online
  • More than 1,000 tons of plastics have been recycled and this is just the beginning!
  • Stopovers in the 40 most polluted countries in the world with awareness-raising activities for local populations (participatory workshops and visits to the onboard showroom).

The second episode projects us into the evolution of Plastic Odyssey:

  • Transformation of the vessel into a real onboard factory to process very large quantities of plastic (around 80,000 tons by the end of 2029)
  • Cleaning up areas of high marine biodiversity, known to be difficult to access
  • Continuing training for entrepreneurs, creating factories and jobs.
